Pattaya Airport, or as it is officially named U-Tupau Airport, was originally a military airfield. The airport now also handles commercial passenger flights but only to a few domestic destinations. If you destination is Pattaya it may be cheaper to use Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport which is located 110 km north of Pattaya.
Pattaya Airport is located 30 km south of Pattaya (Thailand's most popular beach) near the main Sattahip - Chanthaburi Highway.
Minibuses can take you direct to your destination in Pattaya (250 baht, 30 minutes) or you can take a songthaew for 20 baht.

U-Tapao International Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from U-Tapao International Airport, most of these are operated by AirAsia. Many people take a flight to Kuala Lumpur and transfer to another flight there.
